Pros: I ordered several of these for a number of workstations in my office; They offer great performance; As stated, one of the DIMM's on one of the sets failed, 3 months after purchase; RMA'd it to Crucial and got the replacement within 10 business days. Lifetime warranty on technology is handy
Cons: Had 1 DIMM fail out of the 30 we had ordered; Not bad, and even though the support was great and got a new replacement easily enough, working perfectly without the bad DIMM would have been better; I'd only take off .5 an egg for this, but can't justify 5/5 with a defective piece.
Other Thoughts: Wasn't expecting to have to swap a DIMM out so soon after installing, but was glad I purchased from Crucial, as it was well out of Newegg's return policy for defective products. A Lifetime warranty on this stuff isn't really necessary but I appreciate it; Would buy again;READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: AMD FirePro V4800 100-505606 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Workstation Video Card
Pros: Great Entry-Mid Level Rendering Card! For the price, can't be beat either. ATI's commitment to releasing driver updates on a regular basis to keep improving their products is unbeatable
Cons: Initial issues with drivers (I think the entire HD5xxx line had this same problem. Seems to be fixed now. Had to not install Catalyst for the first few months
Other Thoughts: I bought 6 workstations with these in them months ago due to it would have delayed my schedule a whole month to wait on the NVidia Quadro 560 I originally planned on using. They work great! I don't know why people are complaining about no Crossfire. Crossfire is a feature for gaming video cards. Buy the HD5000 series if you want more speed but that's not what these cards are for. As for the people with compatibility with older motherboards, update your firmware on your montherboards. Back in the day, flashing your BIOS was scary. You can do it from WITHIN Windows now. This is a great card for the features it comes with. If you need more power or want to Crossfire two of them, don't go with it. It wasn't built for that. Does what it's supposed to great! :-DREAD FULL REVIEW
