This review is from: KINGWIN KF-1000-BK 3.5" Internal hot swap rack
Pros: I've had 2 of these trays installed in my tower for about 1 & 1/2 years with no problems but I basically use these trays to facilitate easy cloning so I'm not swapping out HDD's often in the trays.
I read a review here regarding 3Tb HDD's and that may be a "con" for this product but I've not tried any HDD larger than 1Tb with the tray.
I haven't seen any issues with parts wearing, etc but I don't swap out HDD's frequently so my trays will probably last longer for that reason.
For fast HDD installs/swaps, I highly recommend this product.
Cons: The product didn't include a molex/sata power adapter but I'm not sure that it was supposed to include that adapter.
My tower interconnect setup required a 4-Pin Female Molex to 15-Pin Male SATA Adapter which was available at my local PC store.
The only other possible "con" would be another reviewer's reference to use with a 3 Tb HDD, partitioning into 2 partitions. I haven't seen any notation from Kingwin regarding a limitation to the HDD size with this product.
This review is from: PLEXTOR USB 2.0 / eSATA External CD/DVD Drive Model PX-L890UE LightScribe Support
Pros: I bought this item to supplement my internal PC tower drive and it was the only external standard DVD drive that I found that provided an eSATA interface. I wasn't familiar with Plextor drives until this purchase. I've burned hundreds of DVD's without any glitches with this drive. It also successfully read and burned a few DVD's which my internal tower drive had problems burning copies. This burner is also faster and had no problems interfacing with various DVD burning/playing software. Highly recommend this purchase if one is looking for a reliable external DVD Burner with an eSATA interface. This burner is now my primary workhorse, replacing my internal burner as my #1 DVD drive.
Cons: The only thing that I would have liked to see with this item is to have a front-panel power LED available. There's no indication available at a glance to see if the unit is powered up and turned on.READ FULL REVIEW
