This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm
Pros: Temperatures. light weight. has an LED
Cons: where do I start.
1. the fans provided with the cooler are some of the worst/loudest fans in existence, it sounds like an airport when i turn on my computer. this is not a faulty fan issue, no ticks no grinding noises, they are just plane loud... see what I did there "plane"
2. corsair link doesn't work. corsairs software that is made to monitor/tweak this cooler doesn't even recognize it. the only solution is hidden in a back alley forum that requires you to regedit the usb driver. corsair link doesn't provide any monitoring info except for a non-adjustable "fan" speed that is actually your pump stuck churning away at full RPM.
3. With no control over the fans plugged into the pump/block of the cooler they tend to have a mind of their own. there isn't a fan curve that they follow. one second minimum RPM at 16c. the next moment at 17c 100% fan speed.
4. The RGB LED doesn't work. because corsair link doesn't work. hope you like the color white, because that's the color you get.
Other Thoughts: corsair was a name I thought I could trust. all the great reviews and comments mention nothing of their own software being incomparable, or any mention of that airplane prop excuse for fans they bundle in. I'm outrageously disappointed at this cooler needing to make my house sound like an airport just to cool down a fx-6300 at stock speeds to 30c under load.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: everything as advertised. excellent performance even under heavy load. great read and write speeds
Cons: It wasn't free.
Other Thoughts: I took my chances on a green series drive and that didnt pay off well, second time i invested in this black series drive. never looked back. black series has a great reputation for being excellent in every advertised aspect. 10/10 would buy again if needed.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: large capacity, lower power consumption
Cons: these are not the drives your looking for *obi wan voice* intellipower creates issue with long demanding reads and writes like game loading. 5400rpm spindle speed. this drive should be used for storage only and nothing demanding like "steam drives" or other games. this drive fails to perform mutiple tasks like downloading a game and audio play back without studdering/freezing.. dont make the mistake i did. this should not be used as an OS drive.
Other Thoughts: This drive sounded like a dream at 1tb for only 54$ on sale. i wouldnt pay 30$ for this drive. it fails to out perform some of the oldest sata drives i own. there is a "tweak" out online that allows you to stop the intellepower design. but have not tried it myself.. your luck may vary.READ FULL REVIEW
