This review is from: Seagate Expansion 3TB USB 3.0 3.5" Desktop External Hard Drive STBV3000100 Black
Pros: It was cheap
Cons: Only lasted a year
Other Thoughts: I've been building my own computers for the last 15yrs. I've probably been through 20 or 30 drives in that time with different setups and RAIDs and all that.
This was the first drive I've ever had actually crash on me.
It never moved, it just sat in a closet connected to a home server serving up some videos every now and again.
Pros: It works. Transfer rate on my external is good.
Cons: I have no idea who makes this, but I think all their websites are in chinese so I couldn't google them.
The install disk is just a file disk with 12 different folders, which look like they are 12 different random pieces of hardware's drivers.
Windows did not detect the card when I installed it, so I had to find the right driver in the folder list. I can't remember which one it was exactly, but it says something about being USB 3.0 in the Readme.txt.
Other Thoughts: I guess you get what you pay for.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: At $3/ea they were cheap.
Quiet decent airflow for being quite, though still not much airflow.
Cons: Each one was slightly different. My experience echo's another reviewer's where 1 was perfect, 2 were mediocre, and the 4th was the loudest of the 4 with the least airflow.
Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for and I only needed 3 anyway. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because I felt like I got my money's worth.READ FULL REVIEW
