Seagate Desktop HDD ST2000DM001 2TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5

Pros: Works like it should, used as a second hard drive.. I also have the 1TB version and that's been running fine for 6 months now.. I expect the same with this 1TB drive.. :)

Cons: None that I can see

Other Thoughts: Will eventually get two of these nice HDD's and RAID them together.. Can't have too much space :)

UPDATE: Had to RMA 6 months later for failure. Seagate was extremely great to work with and replaced the drive without any issues. Even offered data recovery options. Will be sticking with Seagate drives here on out :)

GIGABYTE Radeon R9 270 GV-R927OC-2GD 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card

2 out of 5 eggs Mostly Ultra / UPDATE: It's got some issues.. 01/02/2016

This review is from: GIGABYTE Radeon R9 270 GV-R927OC-2GD 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: I am very satisfied with this GPU, it's my first computer build so I was expecting medium graphics at best.. However, I am able to play most games on ultra and those that seem to lag a bit I can drop down either Shadows or Particles and it fixes the issues.. Watch Dogs I'm playing fully Ultra with Shadows on Low. Game is amazing with those settings.. :)

Cons: The only con I've run in to is that when trying to overclock using AMD Catalyst, sometimes it overdoes it and crashes the GPU.. Even on the recommended settings for overclock. It's not a good card if you want to overclock while gaming, and I highly do NOT recommend it with this card without water cooling. On it's stock cooler it hits 60C just on normal operations. Overclocking would not be safe with this card..

Other Thoughts: Overall it's a great card, if you are new to building computers or just want something within budget, I totally recommend this GPU. Gigabyte hasn't steered me wrong yet :)

*Keep in mind the new mod that unlocks hidden features in Watch Dogs will not work with this GPU as it also puts shadows and particles on Ultra. It'll look amazing, but you will have a TON of lag.. ;)

UPDATE: Ran into quite a few glitching and color bar issues with this GPU.. I switched to NVidia and all my problems went away. It may not be just they type of card but the company that puts this one out as I've had issues with a Gigabyte motherboard as well. All issues vanished when I switched to ASUS. I'm thinking it's just a GIgabyte issue. I don't recommend this company at all.

GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD5 AM3+ AMD 990FX 8 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

1 out of 5 eggs Good Motherboard / UPDATE: Horrible Board & Company 01/02/2016

This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD5 AM3+ AMD 990FX 8 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Works great, I'm a new PC builder and this was my first computer build.. Everything seems to be working except for a couple things which were more just annoyances than anything. Not worth an RMA in my opinion

Cons: OK so here's why I took an egg off.. Everything worked great when I first loaded Windows 8.1 OEM on my system.. I reboot, and then suddenly the speaker on the motherboard shoots out this high pitched frequency and wouldn't stop.. I flashed a new update to the bios and it still does it.. A really big annoyance, but no hard really in removing the speaker..

The other issues are the boosted USB 3.0 ports go slower than the 2.0 ports.. There is a significant difference in speed.. Not anything too big since I don't really rely on the USB ports for transferring data, all my drives are internal so the one or two times I need to use the USB for transferring data usually isn't for anything more than a gig or two..

Other Thoughts: Overall, for my first build it's a great motherboard.. The bios is pretty nice as well, better than the standard text displays.. Has actual graphics built in with a menu that you can use your mouse to control. Has lots of options that I haven't seen in standard store bought computers.. The manual is very handy so please do use it.. Helped me get out of a few pickles :)

UPDATE (Dropped to 1 Egg): As a new builder I wasn't aware of the issues that were going on was not GPU, PSU, HDD/SSD, or RAM related. It was 100% the fault of the motherboard. Others have had the same issues I have had all this time with the same motherboard. I switched to an ASUS board and all my issues literally vanished. Also, Gigabyte customer service is the worst I have ever used when trying to explain what the board did. I do NOT recommend any product by Gigabyte. Steer clear of this company!
