Rosewill Gaming Keyboard RK-8100, Anti-Ghosting feature, Fully programmable keys, 10 profiles setting

Pros: I'd say for the price this is an excellent keyboard. I did not use any of the special features or software, but it never failed me and worked great.

Cons: The blue glowing icon was a little weird but not a deal breaker.

This review is from: Microsoft Windows 8 64-bit (Full Version)

Pros: It is not a big resource hog. Overall it is fast and snappy, I'm not waiting for long loading times. It does not seem to get in the way of gaming at all.

Cons: Overall I find Windows 8 to be confusing. Granted, part of this is just learning a new system and I'm sure it will eventually become easier to use. However, it seems it was designed with more of a touch screen focus. My system has a traditional screen with a mouse and keyboard, and many parts of the interface seem like they were not built with this in mind.

Windows 8 also feels rather disjointed. I can never tell when I'm going to be in the new "Metro" style interface or when it is going to require me to return to the classic desktop mode. This seems especially true when I'm adjusting settings. Some seem like they are only available in the classic control panel (which can be hard to find) and I can only access from "Metro".

In addition, I found the hybrid shut down (which is turned on by default) was causing my PS/2 keyboard to stay powered on even when the computer was shut down (not sleep mode). This is likely an incompatibility with my particular motherboard and Windows 8, because when I went to the motherboard company's website, it was listed as a known issue. Turning off hybrid shutdown fixed the issue.

Other Thoughts: I can see where Microsoft is going, and I think with some revisions it can be a great operating system. And for touch screen computers, it may already be a great operating system. However, for my more traditional PC, my overal impression is that it is trying to be two operating systems in one, and it is hard to tell which one you will be using for a certain task.
