GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) DirectX 11 GV-N470D5-13I-B 1280MB 320-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Price
Fast, while it worked.

Cons: Poor Quality refurbish
Bad support

One arrived DoA, the other lasted just over 3 months. Trying to RMA the first card took at least 2 weeks, as I had to initiate the RMA via e-mail (the automated site for Gigabyte's RMA process doesn't accept Serial Numbers from refurbished cards).

The first e-mail was responded to with a link to the automated site, which I had explicitly mentioned as a problem. The second and third e-mails I sent were summarily ignored.

The fourth was answered with an RMA number, and promise of authorization in a following e-mail (which was not sent). I had to send another e-mail to get the authorization.

Now the second card is dead, and what do you know, it held out just long enough to be outside the 90 day (seriously) manufacturer's warranty.

Other Thoughts: This was some of the worst support I've experienced in a while. I'm not going to buy any other products from gigabyte if I can help it at this point.

Turtle Beach/Voyetra TBS-2290-01 Ear Force XP510 Premium Wireless Dolby Digital PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 Gaming Headset
  • neweggOwned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: First, and mainly, the sound from this headset was phenomenal and the base was crystal clear, sometimes surprisingly so. The wireless for the sound came through perfectly. The ability to pair the device with my phone via bluetooth was also a very handy feature. The battery life was not a disappointment, and the ability to charge them while in use was also a big plus.

Cons: The automatic battery saver is too aggressive, and will shut off if the sound drops below a certain level for about 5 minutes or so, meaning that anything with long stretches of silence or near silence will cause them to shut off. It's also a little confusing setting up the dual pairing feature, but that is workable. I also, personally, considered the ear cups to be a little bit too shallow. This combined with the logo on the inside lead to minor irritation to my ears, but nothing too severe.

Other Thoughts: I returned this headset, but not because of the listed cons in and of themselves, but because they existed on a headset that costs as much as this one does. When you pay this amount for a product, even nit-picky details matter to me. Personally, I felt this headset to be a bit over-priced, which is why I returned it, but that really is a matter of personal opinion, and it is still a solid headset, with nothing majorly wrong, which is why I gave it 4 stars.
