Keyboard is just ok...

OCZ Alchemy Series Elixir OALKBELXUS Black 104 Normal Keys USB Wired Slim Keyboard
OCZ Alchemy Series Elixir OALKBELXUS Black 104 Normal Keys USB Wired Slim Keyboard

Pros: The rubber coated keys give a very tactile feeling, the keyboard so far is very responsive, not overly loud. It comes with extra keys.

Cons: The function keys are a joke, running Vista Premium 64, the function keys randomly lock the keyboard up, making it so you have to unplug the keyboard to regain any keyboard functionality. This happens with or without their software installed, also when using the software to create macros, they will sometimes work, and by sometimes I'm getting less than a 10% success rate. I've tried uninstalling the keyboard from the system and the software and it continues to happen. When looking on the website for updated software from OCZ, all I get is Windows XP software, they really need to do some work on this keyboard imo.

Overall Review: I'm going to keep the keyboard, with Windows 7 right around the corner, hopefully that will solve the problems, if not, well as long as the blue buttons are avoided the keyboard seems very solid and so far works without a hitch. :P

Bad Device... Avoid

Datacolor Spyder4 Express
Datacolor Spyder4 Express

Pros: None

Cons: It works the first time, after that it puts a blue colorcast.

Overall Review: I bought this to replace my Spyder2, it worked fine the first time, after that it puts a severe blue color cast. When I contacted Datacolor, they sent me a file I had to use to reset the device, which in turn created profiles Windows wouldn't allow to be run, after making settings changes to windows itself, it will work, until you have to calibrate it again, then you have to go through all that all over again. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who is serious about getting into a calibrated monitor solution.
