Pros: Just upgraded from the XT5000T, which we were very happy with. At 1440x900 resolution, World Of Warcraft gameplay is smoother on the new laptop. The free RAM slot makes upgrading to 2GB easy. The free 2nd hard drive bay is nice. Playing HDTV over the network from our other Vista Premium PC is a snap. The laptop doesn't get as hot as the XT5000T.
Cons: The wireless still cuts out when trying to play HDTV across the network, so it's best to connect a cable for that. The tiny right shift key still bugs me. The PC completely locked up a few times during the first day of use and after adding RAM, but has been really smooth since then. It might have been the installation of new antivirus software that caused problems. The new nVidia driver says that it supports the 8600 GS, but it can not find compatible hardware in the laptop.
Other Thoughts: The XT5300T includes a trial of MS Office 2007. The Vista recovery disk works great.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Bought two of these. Both looked brand new and had a fresh copy of Vista installed. Neither laptop gets too warm when playing Half-Life2 Deathmatch. The graphics are smooth with Source-engine games. The screen is crisp and bright. I can't see any benefit in buying the new version of this laptop.
Cons: Bioshock doesn't run smoothly enough for me after reducing resolution and details somewhat. My finger has trouble finding the tiny right shift key, but I haven't tried remapping a neighboring key as another shift.
Other Thoughts: Great value for seven bills... even if they're hundreds.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Works great.
Cons: no cons.
Other Thoughts: I'm not brand-picky... I chose this HD because it had excellent capacity and speed for the money. I happen to have a few Western Digitals because they are a good value. Drives from other manufacturers work fine, too.READ FULL REVIEW
