This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan
Pros: The non moving parts of this cooler can cool a CPU with only a slight air circulation, the CPU will run quite hot without the fan turning, but it will run and may not destroy itself with the overheating safety turned off. With the fan turning at higher speed the CPU is cooled to almost computer case temperature. Fans fail and it is important to have a cooler that can keep the CPU cool for at least a short time when the fan fails.
Cons: fans do fail.
Other Thoughts: The fan that came with the CPU COOLER lasted for 4 years with an estimated total of 300 days of run time. I would guess that the fan would have ran for 2 to 3 years if it had run continuously. My computers run in a clean environment and I clean my computers every 2 years, taking care not to get water where it should not be and being careful with compressed air so that it does not damage anything. A fan is designed to run up to a 1,000 rpm or so, a fan can easily be made to turn a damaging speed with a compressed air nozzle.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: BELKIN BE108000-08-CM 8 ft. 8 Outlets 2500 joule Surge Suppressor
Pros: Low cost
8 well designed and well spaced outlets
Cons: The off on switch does require a firm press to turn it on, but it can be turned off with the slightest of pressure. While this does make it sort of child proof it does not make it a good surge suppressor to plug in most electrical equipment.
Other Thoughts: The arrangement of the outlets is excellent. The on/OFF switch needs to be redesigned. I assume the switch is probably an integral part of surge suppressor in effort to cut costs.
I added the child proof statement because if a child or pet hamster were to touch the BE108000-08-CM the off switch may be activated. It is not really child proof because the holes of the outlets are not covered.
