4 out of 5 eggs Very Fast SSD, But NO Brackets Included ! 11/22/2011

This review is from: Corsair Force 2.5" 40GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-F40GB2-A

Pros: Very Fast SSD ! At $84.99 it's a MUST upgrade for all Windows 7 power users !

Cons: If you plan to install this 2.5" SSD in an available 3.5" bay, make sure to also purchase a bracket adapter because it's NOT included with the drive.

Western Digital Blue WD800AAJS 80GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5

Pros: Even if these drives are "old" and very small, they're cheap ($36.99) and perfect for building a small Raid system. I have three (3) of them here in Raid 0 (total = 240 GB) and the overall performance of my PC is A LOT faster than using a single drive of the same (or bigger) size.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Yes, Raid 0 is very fast, however, be advised that if only one drive crash, everything's lost. Here I have an external "NAS" server (QNAP TS-210) running 2 drives in Raid 1 (mirror), and that's where to put all my important data. Also, a backup software (Acronis) is running every night to save important data on it.
