Pros: The laptop is very thin and pleasant to look at. It has potential to perform well in games due to the A10 7300 APU. Performs snappy in windows 8.1
Cons: The A10 never hits its rated specs (1.9ghz base and 3.2 ghz turbo). During a game of League of Legends it runs at 1400 mhz. Temps per hwmonitor are 95 cel at idle on windows 8.1 desktop so this is most likely why it does not turbo to the speeds advertised. Newegg wants $68 to RMA a product that does not remotely meet the advertised specs.
Other Thoughts: I had high hopes for this laptop. The A10 7300 is a nice APU that should be very desirable in a mobile platform. I'm not sure why this Lenovo performs so poorly but it runs 95 cel in windows. I could probably open it up and reapply thermal paste and drop temps so it will turbo. But i'm not opening it to risk voiding the warranty when I can send it back and get a pc that performs closer to its rated spec.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H80i High Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 120mm
Pros: I purchased this on sale for $75 which is a great price. I paired it with a overclcoked 8350 (4.5 ghz @ 1.45v). On quiet mode this keeps my chip well under 40 cel on average use and even with handbrake encoding it stays at 50 cel. The LED on the CPU cooler logo is a nice touch. The differnet fan modes are very nice to have also. The corsair link software is very handy and allows customization of the LED.
Cons: Its a little large and I had to improvise the installation in my case. Its not really a con since you need the fans and radiator in order to get the excellent cooling this offers.
Other Thoughts: This does a great job keeping a high watt overclcoked cpu cool. Even in prime95 with my 8350 at 4.5 I can keep it under 50 cel with balanced profile.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: This CPU has been running at 4.5 ghz with 1.45v using a Corsair h80i since the day I bought it. Using Cinebench its multithreaded performance is a little over a i7 3770 (a $300+ cpu) but I only paid $150 for the 8350.
Cons: Not really a con, but if I had it to do over I'd purchase the 8320 since its cheaper and easily hits 4.5 ghz. Anything over 4.5 ghz and the 8350 requires lots of volts to achieve stability.
Other Thoughts: Great price to performance. Overclocks easily on my 990fxa-ud3 and h80i. Firestrike score of 8587.
