Pros: Worked without any issues
Runs fairly cool for RAM
Other Thoughts: I took a chance and bought this for an Asus M5A97 R2.0 motherboard that I was given that I bought an FX-8350 to go with. The motherboard supposedly could be picky in using DDR3 1866mhz, as DDR3 1600mhz is the normal "default" for AM3+. I had read of some people not having luck with RAM, and with no idea of how this RAM would work, I had already purchased it before really reading about it.
I got lucky. I went with quality RAM and wound up with quality performance lol. I haven't overclocked it, as these set ups prefer an 1800mhz max RAM speed, but I've left it at 1866mhz/1.5v. It's doing great.
Pros: Looks cool on paper. Looks cool in your hands.
Cons: Not very compatible with the extremely common Asus P5B.
Other Thoughts: Everyone acts like it's a miracle when they stick their RAM in and it works. Does that really deserve 5 eggs? Maybe.
But for the rest of us 1%'ers... we overclock. This RAM, whether mixed with other RAM, or paired with 2x more sticks of its own (the exact same RAM), will NOT run on any other RAM divider other than default.
That's the only reason I ordered two more sticks of this, I thought maybe it wasn't playing friendly with my OCZ Rev II or my Crucial RAM (because I tried different RAM with it). Well, now I have well over $100 invested in RAM that can't do what RAM from 8 years ago could.
I wouldn't complain, but COME ON, it's an Asus P5B, the king of overclocking. I've NEVER had a RAM divider issue until I tried this RAM. I am truly displeased.
So, does it work? Yeah. Does it work well? NO.
Pros: Looks neat. Excellent microphone.
Cons: Uncomfortable. And that's after having these for well over a year. I also noticed they weren't near as loud as my old Fatal1ty headset. Common problem with one speaker going out due to loose connection in the audio/mic controller built in-wire.
Other Thoughts: They broke taking them off my head. laugh all you want, but these headphones were junk. In build quality, sound quality, and longevity.READ FULL REVIEW
