4 out of 5 eggs Made a mistake with model number 03/18/2014

This review is from: Kaz Inc HT-900 9" Table Fan - Black

Pros: Quieter than HT-800, if you want that

Cons: Unfortunately, my previous review was based on my HT-800 model. This model is "25% quieter than previous models", which is absolutely not what I wanted. It actually seems far quieter than 25%, so perhaps the previous model they refer to isn't HT-800. It also seems to push less air.

Other Thoughts: Still a fair enough fan I guess, just not what I was expecting (my fault)

5 out of 5 eggs Love it 03/12/2014

This review is from: Kaz Inc HT-900 9" Table Fan - Black

Pros: First year in college, I and my roommate left these fans running for 2 semesters straight. All day, all night, brining in air from the outside because the heating system in our dorm was rather dumb. No problems. I've then used it heavily for the last 7+ years, it only just now sorta died. It still works I guess, and would do much better if replaced the lubricant, but... after so many years of solid performance, I'm more than willing to purchase another.

It moves a good bit of air, and is quite loud. The noisiness makes this an excellent fan for those who are sensitive to noises and have trouble sleeping with inconsiderate neighbors (all the way from college through multiple apartments). The airflow is great, I've encountered many very large fans that produced way less flow than this little thing. Absolutely no complaints about the airflow.

Configurable speed (3 settings), and can be angled, I've not encountered a situation where this fan alone doesn't do what I need.

A few times, I've opened it up to give it a good cleaning. After so much use, it gathered a bunch of dust. Aside from the lame security screws, this unit is easy to maintain. Had I been more careful, I imagine mine would have lasted even longer (I think I ended up removing some of the lubricant a few years ago, and now it has finally started to have issues).

Cons: If you don't need/want the noise, then don't get this. I consider it a huge feature of this fan, but it won't be what everyone is looking for.

Other Thoughts: If you are thinking about quality, you are done -- just get this fan. Otherwise, just think if a small powerful noisy fan is what you want. Pretty simple!

TRENDnet TBW-107UB Micro Bluetooth USB Adapter

5 out of 5 eggs So Much Better!! 10/26/2013

This review is from: TRENDnet TBW-107UB Micro Bluetooth USB Adapter

Pros: I first tried two very cheap IOGEAR adapters (on sale), and had a terrible experience with both. In just a few hours of use, this TRENDnet adapter has put to rest all but one of the issues I had with the previous junky adapters. If it doesn't die after a few months, then everything is solved for me!

The range is exactly what I need. Every room, every corner, doors open/closed... even if I go to the furthest corner and hold my bluetooth device close to my body. Installation and usability are so far great, just be sure to use the disc that came with it.

If you cause the device to loose its connection for a while (I had to lay on top of my device), things will get out of sync... audio will be lagging a few seconds behind, for example. But the adapter smartly will catch back up shortly after. This seems like an obvious feature to have, but apparently not all manufacturers bother.

Cons: Tiny (but not the smallest I've seen). This makes it hard to unplug (which is not a common need).

Blue flickering. Not sure what the point of having the adapter flashing all the time is... maybe for laptops where battery usage is a concern? But it isn't distracting the way I've positioned it, so not much of an issue.
