Pros: Well built and nice looking, highly functional. I like the way round cable bends and moves at any axis.

Cons: The downside to round SATA cables, I discovered, is that at the connector they are a bit fat at the transition to the wire. This may require that I swithch to flat cables, should I need to add so many drives later that I need to use mobo connections that are "stacked" tightly together.

Other Thoughts: In tight situations where connectors are stacked tightly, go for flat cables.

Pros: Well built and good looking, 3.0 speed.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: In my most recent build I wanted to keep things minimal and clean. I opted for this as opposed to an over-priced junky card reader or bay device. I just keep it in a drawer whe I'm not using it. I only use on type of card (DLSR) so this is vastly less of a burden on my system as opposed to all the inactive drive letters and buggy drivers you get with drive bay mounted card readers. Think about it before you build.

OKGEAR FC444PWM-12BKS 12

  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Clean, solid, good-looking.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Don't ever skimp on any internal wiring. Your machine cost hunderds, maybe thousands. Why ruin it trying to save a few dollars by buying garbage wiring?
