5 out of 5 eggs TP-Link TG-3269 10/12/2012

This review is from: TP-LINK TG-3269 Gigabit Network Adapter 10/ 100/ 1000Mbps PCI 1 x RJ45

Pros: Inexpensive way to upgrade your network adapter to Gigabit speeds. Just install, boot, and Win 7 will load a Microsoft driver that can be upgraded to the latest one frome Realtek. No need to get a driver from the disk supplied.

Cons: It used up the last PCI slot on an old P4 mobo.

Other Thoughts: Bought a second one to use in another machine.

BYTECC USB-GLAN USB 2.0 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet Adapter
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

5 out of 5 eggs It Worked 10/01/2012

This review is from: BYTECC USB-GLAN USB 2.0 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet Adapter

Pros: Windows 7 installed the drivers as soon as it was connected to a USB port. No need to use the driver disk. Network connection status shows 1.0 Gb/sec. Relatively cheap way to upgrade a LAN connection if other network devices like router, switch, and modem support Gigabit speeds.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Data transfer speed will be limited to the maximum thruput of the USB 2.0 connection at best.
