GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 AM3 AMD 890FX 6 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Looks nice in my case, posted my 1090 and 8GB G. Skill ram first time. Big beefy heatsinks over north and south bridges.

Cons: This was a replacment for my ASRock 890fxa board that had SATA issues, and sadly I got this. Lan port died 2 days after installing it, luckily there are 2 on here. STILL awaiting Gigabytes response, nothing so far. Wanting some assistance trying to see if theres something else i can try before having to RMA this.

Other Thoughts: This board only comes with 4 SATA cables, an IDE cable, and the I/O bezel. No little board case header helper thingy, dont know the name of it, but it's not there. At this price range it should be there.

GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 AM3 AMD 890FX 6 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Nice color, this was a replacement to my ASrock 890fx Deluxe 3 board that had major sata issues. Nice and heafty.

Cons: 1 of the 2 LAN ports jump died on me, no idea why, but the other one is working fine, but I'm still going to check into RMA'ing the board. And there is ZERO room to correctly apply Arctic Silver, per their website. You can not turn it in either direction to help disperse the paste, so you must tint the chip. Not a biggy, but an inconvenience.

Other Thoughts: The little header "helper" for all the case plugs is non-existant, and at this price it should be.

ASRock 890FX DELUXE3 AM3 AMD 890FX 8 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

2 out of 5 eggs Not sure what to think of this board... 03/03/2011

This review is from: ASRock 890FX DELUXE3 AM3 AMD 890FX 8 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: I looks nice, and it runs half of my stuff nicely. It was cheap, and it has a TON of SATA 6Gb connnections, but no SATA 3gb, but my SATA 3gb HDD runs just fine pluggeed into the SATA 6gb.

Cons: Where to start.... Included disc is worthless, save yourself a headache and pre-download at LEAST the LAN driver from ASRock, that way you can just update thru windows for MOST of the rest of the drivers. When I use both my Lite on DVD drive and Sony BR burner, it takes FOREVER to read the disc and display the contents in widows explorer. Also my BD drive wont play discs smoothly, likes to hang like the buffer is trying to catch up. Also, if I have my IDE DVD rom installed I cant switch to my Samsung HDD that has Ubuntu on it. It will hang and lock up before the splash screen comes up, all I have in the blinking cursor and a code "75" on the board that stays there til I power it down. Awaiting ASRock Technical Support answer

Other Thoughts: Did I mention the driver disc sucks and doesnt work????
