Pros: Inexpensive card with HDMI output. Sends both audio and video over HDMI.
Cons: Passively cooled card so you need to have good airflow in the case.
Other Thoughts: Bought this card for use in a media PC. It's nice because it's inexpensive and will send the audio over HDMI too so you don't have to have an additional audio output cable to your tuner (Not all HDMI video cards send audio). The card required 18amps on the 12volt line from the power supply. So, BEWARE when using this on a compact or older of compact PCs (we were re-purposing an older box and ended up swapping the power supply). The card is also passively cooled (no fan) so it's important to have good cooling in your case. This card can also be used in low profile cases but I'm not sure I'd do that without adjunct fans.
Over all, the card works fine for what we wanted it to do and is pretty inexpensive.
This review is from: Logitech MK320 2.4 GHz Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo - Black
Pros: Easy to setup, great range, great price
Cons: Mouse is a little on the small side for my hands. Probably breaks if stepped on. Keyboard is tempting to toddlers.
Other Thoughts: Bought this keyboard and mouse combo for my in-law's media PC setup. Worked well within 20' of the PC (line of sight, no obstructions). The setup was essentially: A)plug in USB thingy, B) use keyboard and mouse normally. All the media keys worked out of the box with win7.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: YAMAHA RX-A700 7.2-Channel A/V Receiver
Pros: Great Sound, Easy setup, Affordable price
Cons: Heavy, no printed manual (only on CD), klunky OSD interface
Other Thoughts: For the price point this is unit is tough to beat. I'm using it with a pair of AR PS105 bookshelf speakers. The clarity is top notch for this price point. The Pure Direct mode makes listening to high quality recordings (like SACDs) even more amazing. This unit can also upconvert video signals to 1080. Makes regular DVDs look better (provided the source material is good to begin with).READ FULL REVIEW
