2 out of 5 eggs well that was a bust 05/24/2013

This review is from: Foxconn A88GMX AM3 AMD 880G + SB710 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: HDMI, good price, plenty of usb ports

Cons: D.O.A, poor raid implementation, outdated bios, no single partition 3tb support

Other Thoughts: Picked this board up because it was a good price and had HDMI for my second screen.
the board arrived quickly which speaks to neweggs service.
when i installed the pair of brand new seagate 3tb barracudas i was planning to run as a raid 1 mirror, i began to notice problems.
first: the bios is last updated in 2010, and it shows.
the RAID utility is very rudimentary and lacking in functionality, it would not allow for a full 3tb array, so i had to go with an 800gb and a 2.2tb, windows 7 ult 64 sees both partitons but fails the CRC check when formatting the 2nd one.
break the array and run either drive solo id IDE mode, works fine.
put it back together, the issue occurs again, and of course throughout all of this is constant rebooting and jumping in and out of the bios. some boots the array is ok and healthy, other boots it says its critical and cant find one of the drives, replaced sata cables, checked drive status on known good machines, all the troubleshooting that pointed to a DOA board.

had to RMA board for refund. ordered a new Gigabyte board because i dont have time to wait for the rma process to get the system up and running.

I still want to give foxconn a shot, but not this time.
