This review is from: SUPERMICRO MBD-X9SCL+-F Micro ATX Server Motherboard LGA 1155 Intel C202 DDR3 1333
Pros: Running ESXi 5.1 with multiple VMs (ESXi boots off onboard USB), FreeBSD 8 / 9, and CentOS 5 / 6 OS's on this platform with no issues. One platform uses the onboard SATA ports off the C202, no issues. Add-in cards are various combinations of LSI 3081E-R and Intel i350 / E1G44ET / ET2, no issues. Utilizing dedicated IPMI port for all console management, again, no issues. All platforms are absolutely problem free in 7 x 24 operation with Intel Xeon v1 and v2 CPUs and DDR3-1333 ECC unbuffered memory.
Cons: During testing it was noted that LAN1 (em0) did fail to maintain line rate performance under FreeBSD8, and in fact would disconnect momentarily, interrupting the test cases under high utilization. LAN2 (em1) was not tested. Did not explore this fault further, as production use would be with add-in cards which perform flawlessly.
Other Thoughts: No experience or empirical date to support or deny Windows platform claims.READ FULL REVIEW
