BIOSTAR P4M80-M4-COMBO35 Intel Celeron D 315 478 VIA P4M800 Micro ATX
BIOSTAR P4M80-M4-COMBO35 Intel Celeron D 315 478 VIA P4M800 Micro ATX

Pros: Price, features.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Ignore my last review. Because the memory runs at 133mhz frequency (533 quad pumped) I though I could use PC2100 DDR, even though the manual says PC2700 minimum. My mistake...

Junk

Lenovo IdeaTab Miix 8 Intel Atom Z3740 2GB LPDDR Memory 32GB 8.0" Touchscreen Tablet Windows 8.1
Lenovo IdeaTab Miix 8 Intel Atom Z3740 2GB LPDDR Memory 32GB 8.0" Touchscreen Tablet Windows 8.1

Pros: Bright screen

Cons: Screen can't get dim enough for night use. Windows 8 is complete junk for tablets. explorer stopped working, as did most other apps. Resolution sucks. Everything is too small. OS is not designed for tablets. Battery life sucks. MS One Drive can't be uninstalled and the sync wiped out all the free space.

Overall Review: I wish I could load Android on this. Made for tablets.

Problems

GeIL Value PLUS 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model GVP38GB1600C9DC
GeIL Value PLUS 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model GVP38GB1600C9DC

Pros: Inexpensive, includes heatsinks

Cons: Blue screens. Failed native bios memory test on Biostar TA890FXE mainboard. Have 2 sets (16gb total). One set will fail with 100% repeatability on a certain part of the test run (#5). The other set runs OK on the first set of slots, failed on second set with a single fail line item. Memory voltage was set to 1.6V as required.

Overall Review: I'll stick to Crucial or something of the sort next time. Friend ordered these through Newegg for me to install. Now it's my headache as I recommended them. Hoping to get a rapid exchange with more reputable parts.

Bad Luck...

BIOSTAR P4M80-M4-COMBO35 Intel Celeron D 315 478 VIA P4M800 Micro ATX

Pros: Cheap...

Cons: This thing is so flaky I cannot get an OS loaded. It only posts sometimes, never on a reset, also will not post after making a change from default in the bios, random freeze ups at the post, random screen artifacts... Bad board or CPU...one of them...

Overall Review: Going to RMA this and get another one. Others seem to be having better luck.
