Pros: - It was relatively cheap at $30
Cons: - It's probably not even worth the $30
Other Thoughts: Had contacted Keebox via email and phone to ask a few technical questions prior to purchase. Was told it would do all I wanted it to do. When I got it and opened it up it became quickly apparent that I was given false information. Called support again and they apologized but couldn't even handle a basic setup. Configured on my own.
Quality is sufficient for my needs but it isn't great. Got a third party software that allows me to record video when motion is detected to my computer (like a DVR). Again, it will serve it's purpose but if I had paid more than the sale price of $30 for this I'd be demanding a refund.
BTW, Keebox's email support is more worthless than their phone support. Got an email reply a month later.
This review is from: Pioneer SP-FS51-LR Floorstanding Speakers Pair
Pros: - Great example of what not to do if you are a Shop Teacher in a high school and need a $150 teaching aid.
Cons: - Zero quality control
- Horrible finish
- Cheap looking, feeling and sounding
Other Thoughts: Right out of the box these things had chips in the veneers that look like they were glued on by a blind person who was paid extra to absolutely not care. I can see raw MDF revealed around the edges so it's a black box with sharp edges and brown cardboard looking lines. In addition to the chips and sharp edges there is glue/epoxy all over the sides of the speakers. Enormous glossy patches randomly scattered over otherwise dull ugly spray painted looking black veneer with chips in it. Fan-friggin-tastic!
I know these are in expensive speakers and I didn't expect them to be as good as my Polk Monitor 70's but they aren't even close. These speakers need to be loud to get any kind of halfway decent sound out of them. A low volumes you get only bass and lose the mids and get only very little highs. This had to be way louder than my other speakers to get any sound that sounded even somewhat acceptable and even then it wasn't particularly good.
In short... ugly, major quality issues and mediocre sound if played loud, terrible sound at lower volumes.
Had purchased an Altec Lansing bluetooth speaker with remote for $30 and it sounded better and was a fraction of the size.
Cons: Surprised at what it can't do. Called the company before buying and was told "sure" to everything. Got it and called and was told as an IP camera it's not meant to record to a computer only transmit the video/images. Set up requires internet according to tech support.
Other Thoughts: After a little work around on my own I finally got the camera set up without internet and recording wirelessly to a laptop hidden in my place. Till I get cable internet this will work for now.
I couldn't imagine paying more than the sale price for this item. The normal price seems rather ridiculous for the quality.
