3 in 1 Rubberized Hard case for model A1398 Macbook Pro 15 15.4” Retina display +Keyboard Skin + Screen cover – Orange
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

Pros: Nice cover, slim, good attaching mechanism, goooood color!

Cons: Doesn't protect rear corners, slippery on tile or like smooth surfaces when leaning up like a book (Hence it's not "Rubberized"). The keyboard cover does not align with the characters of the actual keys. If you turn on the keyboard lights you will see double character.

Other Thoughts: Worth it for just the snap on covers, the keyboard skin and the screen protector are nice touches even with the flaws

Monster Ncredible N-Tune On-Ear Headphone - Black & Red

1 out of 5 eggs Disappointing Monster 01/28/2013

This review is from: Monster Ncredible N-Tune On-Ear Headphone - Black & Red

Pros: After reading the glowing reviews I bought 2 of these from Newegg. The construction is sturdy, the fit is snug but it does get tiring after a few minutes and even painful after about 20 minutes. I absolutely love the removable cable!

Cons: The sound was very disappointing. Presented a very heavy bottom, some good mid and terrible high response.
Ran these straight from my iPhone with Apple Lossless tracks. Things improved slightly when I added my HeadRoom Total BitHead as the amp. The Total BitHead seems to improve any headphones. I must say these can really handle ample volume with very little distortion.

Other Thoughts: After reading the glowing reviews here I bought 2 of these from Newegg. The construction is sturdy, the fit is snug but it does get tiring after a few minutes and even painful after about 20 minutes. I absolutely love the removable cable!

Even with the BitHead these still sounded awfull. I bought two with the idea of gifting one. I'm returning both (eating the restocking fee and shipping) as I'm embarrassed to give these away for free.

I have several Monster headphones which I used in comparison here. Everything I tried to love these headphones failed.

LaCie Rikiki 500GB USB 2.0 2.5
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

1 out of 5 eggs LaCrapie 11/21/2010

This review is from: LaCie Rikiki 500GB USB 2.0 2.5" Portable Hard Drive 301909

Pros: Small

Cons: After only 60 days of use. Freezes when attempting to add files, freezes when attempting to partition, either as simple partition or by zeroing out the drive. Makes a loud, constant burring sound with vibrations.
LaCie support is frustrating, only via e-mail, asking to perform diagnostic functions I already told them I had done.
It took LaCie 3 days of online back and worth, asking to try this & that when all the information was in the original posting. Yes I tried a different computer, yes I tried a different cable, no it will not reformat, yes it shows up in disk utility. Now after 3 days they graciously permitted me to ship back the drive at my expense for them to repair it. What do I use while they repair this failure of theirs?

Other Thoughts: I'm out of a device that I rely upon for conducting business. When it comes down to it, the actual (cheap) Samsung mechanism in your (cheap) enclosure is probably costing you about $15-20 in bulk. The cost of the enclosure, mass produced for about $2. An advance replacement program where the customer leaves a deposit, say $25, to be refunded when the failure is returned in the pre-paid packaging would mean minimum downtime for the customer, happier customers means loyal customers. Loyal customer buy more of LaCie products in the future.
I guess we know where LaCie stands when it comes to reliability and dependability. No wonder my IT department steers clear of anything LaCie.
