This review is from: ZALMAN LQ-320 Water/Liquid CPU Cooler 120MM
Pros: Easy to install (Do check online for sizing first!!)
No muss, no fuss, no filling, bleeding, leaking or 24hr break in to make sure there are no leaks. (I am impatient too)
I like the fact all the real weight is not on the motherboard as it would be with a big honking HS/Fan combo.
Actually quieter as I no longer have a CPU fan.
Looks Good and best of all
IT WORKS like a champ!!
Cons: Doesn't come with a 2nd fan and included fan has 1/2 bracket on it, so included screws are no long enough to mount a normal fan. ( BTW you want 6-32 x 1-1/4" )
( I'm extremely particular to the point of insanity and I know it so I can't really fault Zalman for MY issues, but really it's just a few more screws.)
Other Thoughts: I had a pair of Corsair AIR SP120 PWMT 120mm Case Fans in my case and used them instead of the included fan in a push/pull exhaust configuration. That actually gave me a little clearance in the back of my case as it offset the radiator by 1" as I only needed to clear the 120mm Fan.
Before this WC unit I knew the CPU H/S fan was inadequate. With 3, 120mm case fans, running Prime 95 at 7 minutes I'd hit 85C and stop the test.
I'd like to note the I'm running a I7-3820 3.6Ghz(3.8GHZ Turbo Boost). This is a 130W beast, thus the dual fans.
Now I've been running Prime 95 for 45 minutes and CPU temp is 51/52 C!!!. So that's a gain for me of over 30C!!
MB temp was 30C and the CPU idle 33C / 52C Full load!!!
With the current $20 rebate its about $60 which is just about the same a a good quality big honking HS fan, noise maker, that probably won't cool as well.
