Pros: very quiet, fast.
Cons: none yet!
Died after exactly a year
Pros: Good price
Cons: Stopped being addressable by the bios after exactly a year. Attempting an RMA. Should be interesting.
Not compatible with 2006 Intel iMac NIC
Pros: Solid construction, separate lights for 100/1000 connection per port
Cons: Would not negotiate gigabit speed w/ 2006 iMac. I purchased the switch as an upgrade to an older Linksys 10/100 device to get my iMac and PC talking to a new NAS at gigabit speed. The PC with a built in NVIDIA NIC had no problem connecting at gigbit. The iMac with a "Marvell Yukon Gigabit Adapter 88E8053 Singleport Copper SA" NIC refused to auto configure at 1000. Manual configuration just left the connection dead with all possible combinations of settings. Same result booting into XP on the same device. Spent 2 days poking at it until I gave up, trying a D-Link next.
Overall Review: Looking at other reviews and some other searches nets one conclusion: Netgear switches are not 100% compatible with other gigabit devices. Lame.
