Pros: Smooth instillation considering I did not re-install windows 7. booted up and I repaired the original install. Surprising since I came from an i7 920 and asus x58 motherboard. Asus software is pretty good and bios is easy to navigate and tweak settings. This is my first UEFI Bios so i was really impressed.
Cons: I went to turn on the computer after about a week and upon hitting the power switch I nothing happened. I then smelled smoke. I panicked and yanked the power cord from the wall to prevent any more damage. It was too late as a trace on the top right of the motherboard fried. I am giving this review one star because I am disgusted by asus's "customer service". After spending an hour on the phone I finally got through to someone. I told them what happened and I was surprised to find that I was made to feel like a complete novice, an idiot if you will. The guy told me that my power supply was bad and it ruined the motherboard. this is not true because I immediately installed the PSU into another PC and it is perfectly fine. No matter what I said I was told that they will NOT replace my motherboard because I obviously spilled something on it or installed it wrong.
This is absolute garbage. I have built over 50 pc's and do in-home pc repair for a living. I know what I'm doing. everything else in the PC is FINE. I even had the PC plugged into a surge protector when it failed.
have called back 6 times and talked to 6 different people. They kept saying I had to pay to ship it to them and I had to pay for them to repair it. I Finally I got a guy who apologized for the way I was treated and promised to send me a shipping label and get it repaired(NO ADVANCED REPLACEMENT) Needless to say I never received any shipping label. I called back again and again and they say they have NO idea what i'm talking about. I originally called Newegg and that since it went up in smoke that It was my fault and they would not help me. After talking to a manager he finally agreed to make an exception and give me 70% of my money back. THE MOBO WAS A WEEK OLD. YOU ARE A MULTIMILLION DOLLAR COMPANY, TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS. I'm not an entitled stuck up person I just trust that a company will take care of its customers if something goes wrong in the first WEEK. I did not call them demanding a new motherboard because I shoved a CPU in backwards and bent pins. This motherboard was defective and could have started a house fire. I am sincerely asking for your help newegg as ASUS will have nothing to do with me. I am short on funds and really need a mobo to get my gaming PC running.
Other Thoughts: I no longer shop at newegg or buy asus as I am very upset over how I have been treated.READ FULL REVIEW
