Pros: Price was nice. Newegg shipping rocked as usual.
Cons: Speeds mediocre at best if not using on SATA3 port. At least for as long as it worked.
I used the drive for maybe a cumulative total of 5 hours before it failed. Rebooted the laptop I installed it in (Dell Precision M4400) and it informed me there was no boot drive.
Tried pulling the drive and putting it in my external SATA2-to-ESATA bay. Also went unrecognized. Tried it in my main laptop, a Dell Precision M6600, also unrecognized.
Remember when Corsair used to mean quality?
Other Thoughts: Already put in for an RMA, but this is ridiculous. Last time I buy Corsair.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Drives offer great capacity/performance:cost ratio. Also lower power and less heat! Western Digital is amazing!
Cons: Newegg really dropped the egg on this one, causing a 2 egg loss. The 6 drives came in a cut-out section of a bulk OEM delivery tray, each static bagged, then wrapped in bubble wrap and tossed in the box. Only 1 end of each drive was in styrofoam- the other ends were touching metal to metal through the static bags. Of the 6 drives, 5 had to be RMA'd due to smart failures, millions of bad sectors, and one with a click of death. WD advance replaced all 5 drives, all five testing out perfect- WD shipped each drive in it's own stiff plastic carrier offering much better protection to bumps in shipping.
Other Thoughts: This is a first for me- I've ordered tens of thousands of dollars of equipment from the Egg, and never had something like this happen due to gross packing negligence.READ FULL REVIEW
