Pros: cable management, decent power supply and quiet fans*
very nice big side panel good looks. price is good for what you get. see cons.
Cons: I followed the directions to the T and still broke some mounts when removing the front panel to install my optical drive.they seem pretty cheap...I gorilla glued them back on.
when i powered it up for the first time the front fan was making a terrible clicking noise upon inspecting this i noticed that someone went a little crazy with a screwdriver and over tightened the screws on it after loosening them a bit fan became perfectly silent the main problem is that the fan controller does not work on mine I mean at all , pretty annoying deciding if i wanna take all that time removing all my hardware and spending more money to send it back... or just buy a fan controller...at about the same price.
Other Thoughts: i really wish things had gone better with this case...READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: it was good while it worked "was" as fast as the the other Hdd drives in my system . large size.
Cons: One day i came home expecting to play some games which i had installed on this drive along with just about everything else i had. my pc seemed to be running a bit slow and some programs that were installed on this drive were frozen, so I restarted it this drive had died with no warning I mean none. I went to work and it was working fine i left a few games downloading and when i came home it was DEAD it was so bad it was causing my other drives to not read after the restart so after an hour or so of trouble shooting attempting to get this drive going I got nothing. it was dead and all my data was gone literally 4 hours from my next backup. okay i get it hard drives die from time to time but there is usually some kind of warning a squeak a ,squeal a whine or even slower performance. but this one gave nothing. keep in mind I brought this drive new less than a year ago. so i called seagate and since it was still under warranty they agreed to send me a refurbished drive not a new one and i did have to pay shipping, the kind lady also informed me that if i intended to run my pc all the time like i normally do to purchase one of their enterprise drives it had never been an issue with any other drive I have had before. I asked them about data recovery and they said for just my photos and "some" of my videos would cost me over $600 for them to recover, when I hung up to phone laughing I realized that through out my pc building career which has spanned about 20 years now, every time I have had a drive fail it has been a seagate. I mean everytime. there is no second, no third cause its always a seagate. I love Newegg they got this drive to me in 2 days when i originally purchased it but i do not recommend seagate if you like to use you computer a lot
Other Thoughts: the kind lady from seagate also told me that if the next drive they send me fails I will need to send it back for another refurbished model , and that will only be if the 2 year warranty is still active :D fun times.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: once you get it working its pretty speedy
Cons: was not plug and play and it took awhile to get it working
taking a egg for that
Other Thoughts: let me save you all some time forget the firmware for this thing i tried several different versions of the firmware all failed. to make this work you need Seagate DriveWizard. allocate the space. and enable the drive. this worked for me in windows 8 should work on other versions as wellREAD FULL REVIEW
