This review is from: ECS Z77H2-A3(1.2) LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: -Cheap Motherboard
Cons: -It is cheaply made
-The bios is terrible and hard to navigate, you can only use it for a few minutes before glitches appear and you have to restart the computer.
-My cpu overheats like crazy with the i5-3570k--stock cooler. Overclocked at 3.5 ghz, the cpu was at an idle temp of around 35 celsius and during a cpu test with occt, it rose to 90 celsius! Even in the bios it was about 35-40 celcius.
-It is falsely advertised to have a dvi port under the vga, but when mine arrived, there was no dvi port, but instead a hdmi to the side of the vga.
-The cpu fan is obnoxiously loud even at idle. Even with the loud cpu fan, the cpu still overheated and turning the fan to silent made no difference to the loudness of it whatsoever.
-On the default settings, the cpu will overclock to sometimes 20%-40% over the default speed. I eventually turned that off, but unfortunately the cpu underclocks and there is no way to overclock it even a little bit.
-On an underclock the fan is still very loud and the cpu continues to overheat.
Other Thoughts: The dvi port is not an issue if you don't need a dvi port or if you want an hdmi.
I sent the motherboard in for an rma, but it was very difficult because I cut out the upc for a rebate. I got it rma'd because of the false advertising for the dvi. But it takes 4-7 days to ship back, then 3-5 days to process so Newegg rma sucks.
I am going to replace it with a GIGABYTE GA-Z77-HD3. My friend got it and it is apparently very good.
