Enabled Windows 7 Aero
Pros: Used this card to upgrade an old P4 Dell Dimension 3000. The onboard video did not have a WDDM driver so Aero was disabled on a recent Windows 7 install. After installation of this card both video categories of the Windows Experience Index were upgraded to 3.0 and enabled Aero.
Cons: No active cooling, I suspect it will get pretty hot. Not a supported GPU for Windows 7 per NVIDIA's list. However when you download the FX 5200 drivers from NVIDIA's site, their is a set listed for Windows 7 (they are actually just the approved Vista drivers.)
Overall Review: I have yet to try the dual monitor support. I will hopefully drive both 1900x1080 and 1280x1024 with no problems.
Self-tapping screws don't belong in a computer
Pros: Cheap, does it's job of mounting a 2.5" HDD.
Cons: Self tapping screw setup is hokey at best. The holes aren't really optimized for the screw size and the screws are crumby, resulting in a fair amount of torque required for installation. It's not very easy to get the screw threading straight either.
Overall Review: Wouldn't risk a standard platter HDD in this item.
Normally a fan of refurbs /// 1 of 2 arrived with corrupted firmware // Buyer Beware!
Pros: Excellent range and value.
Cons: Seeing the other reviews of this product I cautiously ordered two of these routers to serve as access points in my home network. Both units were the same version (V1) so there was one small success. However one routers’ firmware was corrupted right out of the box. Not unexpectedly given the reviews, I spent some of my own time researching the recovery and then reading between the lines of the fix instructions. The firmware corrupted again when I powered the router off (using the switch on the back of the router) to relocate the router in my home. The second router has not shown any issues. Both units have appeared to be relatively stable in operation for the past two weeks. However only time will tell.
Overall Review: First let me say I am a big proponent of refurbished products. They offer savings for sometimes brand new or thoroughly inspected/tested used items. Needless to say I expect a refurbished product to arrive tested and working. This is the only time in nearly three dozen refurbished products that I have experienced an issue. Given the similar reviews, the felt tip blacked out serial numbers and via my 50% success rate, I believe this to be a poor supplier, period. Purchase at your own risk.
Does not work with Windows 7 x64
Pros: It booted once after multiple tries and I started to transfer files onto my additional HDD. I promptly received a BSOD. I give it one star for the 1 time it worked (partially) out of 5 attempted boots.
Cons: Driver support.
Overall Review: I should have paid closer attention to the reviews.
