Pros: Update on my review under N/A; dated 4-1-2013...Looks like an SSD...
Cons: Buggy, buggy, buggy software! Get ready for adventures in computer repair, and make sure you have a reliable backup and all your repair tools (including boot repair tools and operating systems repair tools) handy.
Other Thoughts: My first foray into SSDs.. The SSD (updated firmware to v.2.25) appears to work all right; but the Nevlo Dataplex software v.220.127.116.11. does not "play nice" with a 1 terabyte boot drive and having a 500GB storage drive at the same time. Starts working fine; but after a few boots; boots hang and/or the storage drive isn't identified in Windows, (replaced all Sata cables - Both drives pass all extended SMART tests) it eats the MBR, boot BCD and generally reeks havoc on the Windows operating system files.. I've spent weeks trying to get the thing to work properly; but it teases me like a pretty woman.. Works wonderfully for a little while, but you're always one random cold boot away from a repair odyssey again..To my mind this is a software issue. I like the idea of the SSD and will be getting a 256GB one for the boot drive now.. But from now on I'll by having my SSD speed without the dubious software tricks and jumping through all the repair hoops; only to fail again and again. This is not a NEW EGG problem, but stay away from this product....PS: The experience DID increase my knowledge of computer and operating system workings tremendously!READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Plugged it in, started up my system, changed some settings in the BIOS, loaded up my pre-downloaded CCC and driver from MSI, and adjusted the video settings after driver installation... A very noticeable improvement over my old HD 5770 ...The fan is quiet to me..
Cons: MSI should have let New Egg just take another $10 off the price, instead of offering a $10 rebate... Always a big runaround; so I won't mess with it.. MSI is counting on that, which is why they and others do the rebate thing in the first place...READ FULL REVIEW
