5 out of 5 eggs To "N/A" who has AMD FX8120 stuck to HSF 08/28/2012

This review is from: AMD FX-8120 Zambezi 8-Core 3.1GHz Socket AM3+ 125W FD8120FRGUBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: This Processor will absoultely scream IF you purchase a high end Heatpipe HSF. I personally recommend the Cooler Master V6 GT+, under full load cpu's temp is 118 farenheit, cpu is clocked at 4.23gz, voltage at 1.297. I personally bought this CPU within the hour Newegg announced it and did get my 8120 in the first crop of them on New Egg. I've had this processor up to 4.6 gz, but it ran too hot and random blue screens. 4.23 gz is mad fast enough, I am able to set turbo core to 4.4 for short periods. No blue screens, win 7 professional 64 bit and Gskill Trident memory x 8 gigs, OCZ Vertex 3 60 gig boot drive.

Cons: No cons, however to N/A who complains that the CPU stuck to the HSF, and whined he wanted his money back, LISTEN UP:
1. Put the CPU/heatsink back in the mainboard. Boot, and run some excessive programs, Furmark for an hour, any of the Unigine series (Heaven, Tropic, Sanctuary) for an hour. Shut down system, remove the power cord, HSF will come right off the processor. Problem solved, you needn't ask the MFG for your money back, because now you can perform ths awesome task on your very own!!!

Other Thoughts: Because "N/A" was unable to figure out what to do, he knocks a fracking intense performance CPU to 2 stars. That's just sad than "N/A" wasn't able to figure out a simple process that "seasoned" builders use. That's what blog's are for.

Pros: Processor handles overclocking very well, it also boosted my memory performance due to new memory controllers. Benchmarks put my rig right up there with the Core I7 965, I don't think you can get an adequate bench with a 970gx mainboard, nuff said...I am running at 3.811 gz with the multiplier set at 19 and FSB set at 205, core voltage to 1.30 (same silicon as the 8150) fully stable, idle temp 98 degrees F, load 113 degrees F GREAT JOB AMD!!!

Cons: Container was opened and the tin was bent, whats up with that Newegg? I'm not taking an egg for it, because AMD doesn't deserve it, you however do. Stock heatsink isn't enough if you intend to overclock it seriously.

Other Thoughts: System Specs 8 gigs Gskill Trident 1600 @ 1650 gz, Asrock 890FX Deluxe 5, Kingwin 1000 watt lazer PSU (important for serious overclocking)OCZ Vertex 3 60 gig boot, WD Black Edition 1Tb x 2, FX8120CPU, CoolerMaster V6GT Heatsink/Fan, Thermaltake Armor Case x 3 120mm fans and AMD6870.

Polk Audio RM8 High Performance Satellite Speaker Pair Black

Pros: These speakers are an extraordinary value, I purchased them for 149.99 with a code that brought them to 99.99. I have a yamaha receiver that throws 140 watts their way and I've yet to hear them distort, and I like metal, and loud. They mingle nicely with my Klipsch Synergy and Advent Pro100 mains, and my Klipsch SW450 sub and Polk Audio CS10 Center. They were the missing ingredient. I'm very impressed with Polk, they just seem to get it, from timbre matching to quality.

Cons: No cons, I like the small form factor/big sound and they lend an essence of class to my surround system, very good looking speakers.

Other Thoughts: As for the people that decided to knock an egg off for the speaker connections, I've hung mine on my media room walls with 12 gauge wire and yes, it was a mighty tight fit, but I have absolutely no worry they'll come loose, the clamp is well made and fits on the wire like clamp, just like the old days. DO NOT let these reviewers skew your choice, for the money, I've heard nothing better, period.
