Pros: OK this card worked great! It is quite, installed without a hitch. It runs new games and old. I get most of my games from Steam and make sure they run on windows 7. It is small and will fit in almost all cases. Drivers disk came with card and installed fine.
Note: make sure you clean inside you machine and dump all your cache and uninstall old drivers and wont hurt to defrag the HD if you have a spin drive, before installing.
Cons: OK here is the bad....the rebate process is slow. it took many weeks after I mailed rebate for them to acknowledge they had received the rebate papers. OK got that squared away then the check never made it to the mail box so I emailed EVGA tech support and they put through to the rebate company to resend the check and low and behold that one made it. Now as you can see if you are super diligent and determined you will get the rebate but make photo copies and take pictures of the bar code taped or stapled to the form for proof you sent in the ORIG bar code.
Other Thoughts: Its to bad this rebate process is such a used car bait and switch or find the pea under what nut shell scheme. They really need to be a little more honest.
The rebate money is YOUR money not EVGA's so fight for it.
Pros: It works as advertised.........installed without a hitch..........
Driver disk all good..........I would buy again..........
Flashed the latest bios...Using a FX6300
Ontrack shipping was very fast. Our Ontrack guy knows us and we never have a problem.
Cons: OK I guess there has to be something and it is annoying is the usb connect ON the motherboard for the internal hardware. The plug in's are pointing toward the drives and even with a Cool Master HAF mid tower its a pain. I don't know why they did not just face up like most usb connections.
Other Thoughts: Now for the Rebate....This is the best part, my address was messed up because of PO.Box not accepted (watch for that on all rebates wont mail to a PO box) Just called the 800 number and worked that out. I received it a week later NICE!
After all it is MY money not there's. Thanks ASUS!
Pros: It works pretty good with the right hard drive and video it moves along nicely. At stock speeds and stock cooler it is almost silent, that I would give 5 stars. Next at stock speeds it runs very cool.
I did not knock any stars off because it does what it says its supposed to do just not what I expected.
Cons: Now here is the door slam in your face. If you don't overclock much and you own a Phenom II X4 965 or better just save a little more money and go up to say a FX-8350 Black Edition.
I owned the x4 965 and at stock speed I saw micro improvements on all benchmarks and it does not feel as responsive as the 965.
Other Thoughts: Also this actually only has 3 real cores the others are some implemented AMD tech to make it 6. Another is it runs at 1400ghz most of the time and goes to 3800ghz under load.
NOW if you overclock it then yes it is a bomb an this apparently is easy to do but better know what you doing ace!
Read up on this at "stock" speeds before you buy.........
