Pros: It would be nice if it worked
Cons: Unit received was defective and also ruined the computer's OCZ Vertex 4 256GB SSD it was attached to. Not sure how this happened but the firmware on the OCZ drive was corrupted and all of the data on the drive is presumed lost. Bought unit to backup data and it ended up ruining data. Thankfully OCZ has a great warranty and is going to RMA my drive but the data is still gone.
Installed four Western Digital RE4 2TB drives into the enclosure, they all showed up but ran at snail speeds in all RAID settings/configurations, maybe 5MB/sec peak speeds. Would transfer fine at snail speeds until it reached the end of the file, then it would drop connection or stop data transfer for 60-90 seconds no matter the file size. Tried USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and eSATA with no difference. Vantec Support told me to RMA the unit and I will revise this review if the replacement does any justice.
Other Thoughts: Stay away if using for critical storage.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: *Dual-band connectivity (up to 300 Mbps) a/b/g/n 2.4/5ghz WiFi
*Bluetooth 4.0 capable
*Capable of big gain antennas, high wattage if motherboard can handle it.
*Low profile micro PCI-E
*Easy install, drivers readily available on Intel's site for Windows 7/8.
Cons: Finicky without relatively current drivers, Intel has several rather vague versions of drivers available.
Windows 7 current version as of 03/19/13: v15.6.1
Other Thoughts: Requires two U.FL to RP-SMA pigtails which are readily available from many sites. This card will get absolutely no signal without the pigtails/antennas for WiFi or Bluetooth.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Specs look nice
Cons: Does not work properly with DQ77KB motherboard. It appears that this also does not work with a large number of devices properly. I installed the latest driver from Intel's site, the Win 7, Win 8 and 32/64 bit versions and it still does not work properly. I cannot connect to the bluetooth or via wireless. Just going to return it and find something else.
Other Thoughts: I'll just read the reviews before buying something next time.READ FULL REVIEW
