This review is from: Acer C710-2833 Chromebook Intel Celeron 2GB Memory 11.6" Chrome OS
Pros: Starts up quickly
Great for Google Chrome lovers
3 USB Ports
SD card reader
Great battery life
Shuts down quickly
Cons: 16GB memory
Must be connected to the internet TO SIGN ON
Can't choose computer password separate from Google account
Must be online to watch videos, listen to music, see pictures
Can't change many personal settings, including the minutes in the clock
You can't install programs. Period. You're limited to Google "apps"
Very few legitimate offline Google apps
You can't use any other web browser. Ever.
Basically, you get a box that runs Chrome web browser. That's IT.
Doesn't play DVDs (even with an external DVD player)
Other Thoughts: This is a box that runs Chrome web browser. That's IT. If you are somehow enamored with the fact that Google has its own OS, try using ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on your computer but Chrome web browser for a week. That's what owning a Chromebook will be like. By the way, the Acer Chromebook does the same things as the Pixel Chromebook, with fewer fancy features, like no touchscreen, etc. I bought this because it was a cheap computer. It's not a cheap computer - IT'S A REALLY EXPENSIVE WEB BROWSER!!! If you're going to turn any browser into a computer, for goodness sakes', make it Firefox!!! Maybe in 5 years this will be better, but for now, NO WAY!!! Unless you have a lot of money and you want an interesting toy for your children. or dog. or fireplace.READ FULL REVIEW
