ASUS G75 Series - 17.3" - Intel Core i7-3610QM - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M - 12 GB DDR3 - 500GB HDD - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit - Gaming Laptop (G75VW-NS71 )

Pros: First off, Windows 7. -For various reasons, most notably being familiarity and RAM efficiency. The Geforce GTX 670M with 3GB memory. The true deciding factor for the laptop after an impressive warranty and customer service review. The G75 worked wonderfully out of the box, but I just had to replace the HDD with a Solid State Drive and a larger HDD. Worked perfectly after using home made rescue CDs. No complaints and Window's derp speed is impressive. A huge Win7 update took less than a minute (108k+ files). Gorgeous. Installing the TB drive was a cinch thanks to Asus' design of the G75. Utterly painless. CD/Optical drive. I had purchased and returned an Asus from Best Buy, had no drive... deal breaker on general principle. Back lighted and ergonomic keyboard. Numpad. Nifty touch pad. For when I don't use my mouse. Fan screens, brilliant. Backward and out facing vents, also brilliant. -No longer will my mice or cellphones suffer from heat damage. Beautiful screen. I can Asus fanboy froever, I'll update if anything is amiss.

Cons: What might be cons but aren't. -Weight, it's a laptop with a freaking DVD drive and a legit graphics card. It will be heavy. Not to mention the huge screen. That is gorgeous. HOWEVER There seems to be an issue regarding the graphics card on mine, one night, it ran everything from GW2 to TERA and Civ V, Shogun and the like flawlessly and beautifully. Then... it doesn't. Not without being plugged in. Which makes me sad. I am currently running the latest drivers for my laptop and Nvidia. Lots of stuttering without the cord and sometimes does with. This concerns me and I hope that it will be fixed with a patch. I figured it is a soft/firmware thing and it will be remedied with a patch, ergo I will not deduct an egg for it. I just hope it is fixed soon. That aside, no real cons. I love this machine.

First Neweeg/ Asus purchase...

Pros: Easy and straight forward case design makes upgrading easy. Gorgeous graphics card....

Cons: Until further notice... This will remain at three eggs. I loved this laptop, until I realized that unless it's plugged in... it can't game at all. When it isn't plugged in( look up G75 fps stutter not plugged in) it begins to stutter and lag... making even the lowest requirement games unplayable... games my Samsung r780 could play with it's intel hd chip... that is incredibly sad. Fix this Asus, and you have a five egg machine... until then... it's a compact desktop. This is an issue because I don't want to ruin the battery/ I wanted a mobile platform... not a desktop. Had I wanted a desktop... I would have purchased one. .. This severely detracts from the value for me.
