Mushkin Enhanced ECO2 2.5

1 out of 5 eggs Will Not Fit in a Gateway Laptop 07/15/2015

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced ECO2 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MKNSSDEC120GB

Pros: No idea as the SATA and power connectors are not in the same place as any other 2.5" drive I have ever used. If you compare it to a regular drive, or the Mushkin Reactor SSD I have, the space between the connectors and the drive case is slightly different, which in the case of a tight tolerance mounting space, it will not slide into the connectors. The case on the drive hits the connectors.

Cons: the SATA and power connectors are not in the same place as any other 2.5" drive I have ever used. If you compare it to a regular drive, or the Mushkin Reactor SSD I have, the space between the connectors and the drive case is slightly different, which in the case of a tight tolerance mounting space, it will not slide into the connectors. The case on the drive hits the connectors.

Other Thoughts: It is really a poor decision on Mushkin's part to change the mounting port on this drive. I bet others will have this same problem. I have been a certified PC, Apple, and network tech for 20+yrs, so this is not just a case of a lack of knowledge!

D-Link Xtreme Gigabit Router (DIR-655) Wireless N300, USB SharePort, Gigabit
  • neweggOwned For: more than 1 year

Pros: Good features, good range. Fast ethernet.

Cons: Worked good up until right after the warranty period. Since then I have had daily drops of wireless connections and constant DNS issues. Kept firmware updated and tried a myriad of configs to no avail. Lastly I updated the firmware with the Canad version, turned off QOS and DNS relay and it seems more stable, but as soon as you get 3 or more devices connected to it, it slows down and my PS3 will disconnect with DNS errors. Then my laptop just quits loading web pages. Unplug and reboot it and its good for a while longer. Sometimes 3 or 4 reboots are required.

Other Thoughts: Dlink has always been my go to router for myself, friends family and clients, but after this experience I think I am going to have to go to another brand. :(

PS. Had extensive testing done by TWC and even got a new modem from them. No help!
