This review is from: SENNHEISER PC151 3.5mm Connector Binaural Headset
Pros: The sound is good and the headset is comfortable.
Cons: The front and back pieces of the volume control widgets are not glued or "welded" together. They separate easily into two pieces. One can snap them back together, but unless one is very careful, the very thin wires will be cut. The wires themselves and their connection to the volume control are very low quality. They are not glued, welded, or otherwise securely attached to the volume control. Thus, during normal use these wires tend to move a little bit back and forth within the volume control unit and eventually they break - in my case after two years of light use.
Other Thoughts: I have been using Sennheiser headsets for more than 3 decades and their products have always been well manufactured high quality products. The PC 151 is an exception. While the sound quality is good and the headset is comfortable, the build quality is low. Sennheiser should either stop cutting corners and fix the design problems or sell this headset at a significantly lower price under a different name. As it is now, this headset does major damage to their brand.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ASUS P9D WS Intel C226 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Intel Motherboard
Pros: I do not own this board and I have no intention of buying it. However, I would buy several boards with workstation specs (especially ECC memory) if it is offed in micro-atx format.
Cons: Too big - please offer this in micro-atx format with only 4 expansion slots. The days of giant workstations are gone. If a board has decent built-in video and sound, there is not much need for so many expansion slots.
Other Thoughts: It would be really nice have a true workstation board, i.e., ECC memory, build in sound and video, in micro-atx format. The days of giant workstations are over - take a look at the Mac-Pro!
Please do not try to sell boards that cannot handle ECC memory as workstation caliber boards. They are not - you only hurt your brand doing this.
This review is from: ASUS Z87-WS LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: This is denitely a top-end board with good specs. However, it is not suited for workstations.
Cons: It is not ECC memory capable.
Other Thoughts: This is denitely a well built board with good specs. However, in our view, it is not suited for workstations because it cannot handle ECC memory. We were looking for a micro-atx sized board that can handle ECC memory and has high quality video and sound build in. There seems to be none on the market. We ended up buying P9D-WS server boards and added high end silent video and sound cards.
Dear manufacturer. If you read this, please make a note that there is a considerable market for "small" motherboards with ECC memory and high end sound/video. (Please take a look at the new Mac-Pro - ECC memory, top notch video and sound) This market segment is currently completely ignored by your firm and everyone else in the industry, excetp Apple! Please make ECC memory available on micro-atx boards with built-in high quality video and sound.
