Pros: Looks Rugged, Feels Rugged
Cons: Issue with USB port. Absolutely NO Technical or Customer support despite fancy and impressive website
Other Thoughts: Bought this new through another source. Lasted abt 3 months. Never really used it...just backed up some important data. The internal connection that supports USB port came loose after only a few uses. Despite warranty, I cannot get anyone from SP to respond to any request for support I have so far made - both by telephone and by email. It may be durable with its data retention, but w/o a working port what good is the device?READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Worked w/o issue for about 1 yr; then when to a different zone
Cons: Noticed Blue ray players and various devices powered by this PS would have intermittent problems; they would work then not work w/o any logical explanation. Began getting Blue Screens detailing hardware issues where I could not pinpoint causal issue. I bought a Back-up Corsair almost 9 months ago fearing I had a power supply issue. Well when it shutdown my processor and failed to open Windows, enough was enough. I pulled this beast out and popped in the Corsair.... All is again well. In fact better than well. I initially bought this brand based on price and projected performance attributes. I hate swapping out power supplies. I was very disappointed in this product. It is Silver Certified and has a 7 year warranty. I'm just not sure I'd ever want to go through a Power Supply swap-out again in a complex machine as I just did. It's a pain and time consuming. And this baby is not modular, making it worse.
Other Thoughts: Weighing everything, I was very disappointed in this product. I have never had a Power Supply fail on me before...This is my 1st "Silver" and this failed where the 20 + Bronze units I have installed in other machines I built and own are still operating just fine.READ FULL REVIEW
Cons: Until now, I always thought of Western Digital as a name of quality. Pulled this 2TB WD HD out of my new parts inventory in an effort to build a Server. Oops, the drive would not initiate.....no clicking... nothing....
Other Thoughts: I may have been extremely lucky through my 15 years of building computers, but this is the first drive I have ever had fail to initialize when brand new and placed into service.READ FULL REVIEW
