Nice Cable
Pros: Purchased for a Canon T2i to interface with my Sharp HDTV. Works perfectly.
Cons: No cons.
Overall Review: Nice budget cable that performs just fine.
If at first they don't succeed...
Pros: Attractive layout, plenty of connectors. I like the power switch on the back. Replacement unit was very, very quiet.
Cons: Ticking fan led to RMA of original unit.
Overall Review: The fan in the first unit I received had an intermittent ticking noise that was quite audible. Since I wanted a very quiet PSU for a HTPC I RMA'd it. The RMA process went smoothly and the replacment unit had a non-ticking fan.
Poor battery life and random shutdowns
Pros: Overall a nice player, good sound quality and ability to add microSD card is very useful. Very small and lightweight. Works well in Linux as a mass storage device.
Cons: I experienced only 7 hours (not the 15 claimed) on my first unit. I sent it back for a replacement. The replacement was left outside my door by the delivery person and was stolen. I bought a second one and the battery behavior was identical. The battery indicator gets down to half-full after about 6 hours then rapidly drops to zero in about 1 hour after that. Both players I've owned have exhibited this same behavior. In addition, the player will stop playing a song and need to be rebooted occasionally, this happens about once every 2 hours or so.
Overall Review: I would say you probably get your money's worth since this player isn't that expensive, but don't expect stellar performance and don't believe that 15 hour battery life claim.
Nice Card
Pros: Very fast card at a competitive price.
Cons: Limited when shooting RAW (might be limit of camera itself).
Overall Review: Bought this for a Cannon 550D/T2i DSLR and it is working nicely for that. I can shoot video and continuous shooting at highest JPEG quality without slowdown. The only thing that chokes is trying to shoot more than three continuous RAW photos or trying to shoot raw stills during video, but I think this may be a limitation of the camera itself.
Died on me after 5 months of normal use
Pros: It basically functioned for 5 months. Not expensive.
Cons: The tray began opening at random and it stopped reading discs. This occurred in both Linux and Windows. When it did work, t was very loud at full speed but silent at lower speeds. It would regularly have difficulty reading DVD discs even when it was new and operating.
Overall Review: I can't recommend this drive based on my experiences.
Excellent Drive
Pros: While audible at full speed, at regular DVD playback speed it is very quiet, perfect for my HTPC.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Recommended.
