Acer B6 Series B286HK ymjdpprz (UM.PB6AA.003) Black 28

Pros: Love this monitor. Love the colors, the image quality, the way I can read documents even though the font is smaller.

Gaming is absolutely beautiful on this monitor. I had no idea what I was missing. Detail is incredible.

I don't think I will ever be able to go back to a 1080p monitor. The thought makes me sick to be honest, its that good. Yes it is.

Cons: The included Display Port cable did not work for me at 60hz resolution. I had to get a Cable Matters cable to allow this monitor to display properly at 60hz.

Once I got the new cable all ghosting disappeared and the monitor stopped flashing to a black screen. Previously, ghosting and flashing to black screen was the order of the day on the stock cable. So invest in a good cable.

Other Thoughts: At first I was a little worried about the font size. I needn't bother.

Went in to Windows control panel and set the res scale to 150%. The font is larger but still much smaller than my older 1080p display.

But... after a few days I love that the font is so small. I can still easily read it. Because it is now much sharper than the old monitor was. And, now I can place two windows on the desktop at once and get more work done.

Pros: I just combined this with the 8GB kit and now have 24GB total. Installed it and it runs just like it should at 2400mhz speed. No mods necessary in BIOS since I already had the other identical sticks set to 2400mhz. I set up an 8GB RAM drive and everything is working great. I probably didn't need to bother with this but I just wanted them. :)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Best deal around. I might buy more as I just don't see the point in DDR4 yet and don't feel like upgrading MOBU, CPU, etc. yet at this point. DDR3 is still a great option.

MSI Radeon R9 290 GAMING 4GB 512-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Working like a champ.

Lower temps then when purchased. Thermal paste on these cards is junk. My friend reapplied his and temps dropped 9 Celsius

Looks awesome of course

Very strong card. Stonger than my 290 reference even at higher clocks, probably because of the Hynix RAM I imagine.

Hynix RAM

Cons: Thermal paste is lame and it has a dumb warranty sticker on the screw so you can't replace it. If you are going to put a sticker there so we can't improve the paste then at least use good paste. I don't want to void my warranty so I'm not going to remove the cooler like my friend did. But I wish I could lower my temps 9C like he did. Dumb policy.
