Pros: Ridiculously low priced for the performance.
Cons: Whiny stock cooling fan.
Other Thoughts: Get an aftermarket heatsink/cooling fan of 120mm and set it to very low RPM and you wont even know your PC is powered on.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Intel E10G42BTDA Server Adapter X520-DA2 10Gbps PCI Express 2.0 x8 2 x SFP+
Pros: Installed several of these in different platforms. No compatibility problems with Windows server, VMware ESX 5 or QNAP SAN.
Cons: The are pricey, 10x fast as gigabit, but more than 10x the cost of gigabit.
Other Thoughts: If you are going to use these with SFP+ direct connect cables DO NOT BUY AN OFF BRAND CABLE! These cables have firmware chips in them that negotiate the connection. Get either the Cisco or Netgear cables they have here at Newegg.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Fast and reliable drive. Made for 24/7 raid arrays. I use these drives on a QNAP SAN.
Cons: extremely vulnerable during shipment. Abuse during shipping may directly lead to drive failures. The stratospheric capital required to acquire one.
Other Thoughts: If only the MSRP would go up a little higher. I could then rest at night knowing that acquiring these instead of an Italian super-car was worth every last cent.READ FULL REVIEW
