Pros: Small footprint, virtually no noise, and very low power usage. Great for an office environment because there is very little inside to go wrong.
Cons: Don't even try to run anything but Windows8 on this box. Intel finally put out Windows7 drivers because of user complaints, but don't expect them to work as well as the Windows8 drivers.
Don't try to put windows server on the NUC. Don't try and run Linux on the NUC.
This box is great for an office machine. I would not use it for any other applications that are CPU or graphics intensive. It it grossly underpowered despite what some people might say.
Intel is only concerned with Windows8 on the NUC. Everything else gets ignored.
Pros: While other SSD's may benchmark higher in peak write speeds of sequential data, OR random data, the DC S3700 has something the others do not, and that is consistent performance under all loads. It does this 24/7 nonstop because of its automated garbage collection. This lets the drive run in systems that do not support TRIM, like legacy operating systems or a RAID array.
It also has a small built in battery backup to ensure the contents of the buffer are flushed to disk in the event of a power loss.
This drive also has extremely high endurance, over the 10 Petabyte range.
This is the drive to have if you want consistent, reliable, long term flash storage.
Cons: This thing is a bit pricey. I wish it would come down about %20 more.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: It is not hyperbole to say this has the best layout design I have ever seen bar none. It is EXTREMELY flexible with cooling fan placement and cable routing. There is no better MicroATX design out there. I love the way it looks in the horizontal orientation where the window is facing upwards. An awesome mini tower. It looks even more amazing with internal LED lighting. You want to win a beauty contest? Get this case.
Cons: PLASTIC. The extensive plastic really limits the durability of this case. You don't want to move it much over its lifetime, and if you manhandle it at all it is going to fall apart. The flimsiness and design of the steel bottom panel prevents putting some very nice high end feet on the case.
Other Thoughts: If I could find a way to replace the plastic parts with high end carbon fiber reinforced polymer, this would be the coolest case in the history of mankind. Corsair, you are on the right track. PLEASE make a more durable version of this case. I beg you....READ FULL REVIEW
