CORSAIR HX series HX650 650W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

Pros: Not sure yet!

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: I previously had a Corsair CX750 with a FX-8350 water cooled, running with an R9 280x. But recently I went to a GTX 970 for the efficiency, quiet fans, and cooler operation. So I figured with a power hog GPU running previously I would be able to step down to a 650 watt PSU. Apparently not, I went to turn it on hoping for the best yet it wont turn on. I even trolled around on some blogs and forums, and everything seemed as though it should work. Some even said that SLI was even possible when using an Intel processor and few drives.

MSI GeForce GTX 970 GTX 970 GAMING 4G 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support G-SYNC Support Video Card

  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Fast, clean, small, runs cool, THE PRICE! I get around 90 to 130 FPS on BF4 running on Win10 preview. I can certainly say I am impressed.

Cons: There is a small amount of coil whine, which I somewhat expected as I have had a few other MSI products with the same issue. Even though it is pretty quiet, it is there and is a little bit annoying! A back plate would have been nice, but in the near future I'll be upgrading my case, preferably one that will droop the card in a vertical position, to keep sagging from occurring. I wish that was the standard these days, with the huge GPU's sagging has become bigger issue. Also I purchased the card with the second shipment that Newegg got, since then you can get a free game with the purchase of the card. :(

4 out of 5 eggs Great Card! Glad GTX is finally priced competetively! 11/25/2014

This review is from: MSI GeForce GTX 970 GTX 970 GAMING 4G 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support G-SYNC Support Video Card

Pros: The card is an absolute beast for the price, I traded this in for a Sapphire Tri-X 280x, and cannot love that I did anymore. The 970 is faster, cheaper, more efficient, stays cooler, and quieter. All around I would recommend this to anyone.

Cons: There is a small coil whine when under some pressure. I literally had to wait until everyone in my home was asleep to confirm it was the card making coil whine. I am not too disappointed, but it would have been nice to have no issues, unlike my old 280x. Though MSI has had a history of it.

Other Thoughts: The fact that these cards are actually priced competitively is amazing! They are much better all around for the same price now! :D
