One of The Best

APEVIA X-QPACK2-CM/500 Black/Camouflager Aluminum Body/ Front Mask Micro ATX Desktop Computer Case 500W w/120m UV Blue Fan Power Supply
APEVIA X-QPACK2-CM/500 Black/Camouflager Aluminum Body/ Front Mask Micro ATX Desktop Computer Case 500W w/120m UV Blue Fan Power Supply

Pros: * Has excellent airflow with a high speed (50+ cfm) 120 mm input fan on the back. * Can fit a Zalman 8700 with most motherboards (best hsf for small cases, I think) * Easy to order replacement parts from Apevia * Pretty good power supply - it has powered my quad core setup for nearly three years without a problem (though I am replacing it soon as capacitor aging is a problem). The power supply included with this case is a step above some of the others that I have seen included with micro atx cases (if it comes with one at all). * Solidly built - I have never had problems with carrying it around even if it was fully loaded with 3 HDs

Cons: * Hard to find a good heat sink that will fit the case * Spring could possibly detach from * It's a micro atx case so it is hard to work in, particularly if you have large hands * The 80 mm fan in the front is a bit redundant

Overall Review: I originally purchased my case in August 2007. Since I purchased it, I have been running a quad core setup (first a q6600 then a q9550), 3 hard drives, and a power hungry video card (first 7900 then 9600). I also have a couple of cold cathode tubes and a 133 cfm 120 mm fan on the back (this is overkill, but it is great for impressing friends). My case still looks "almost" as good as it did the day that I first purchased it (this is despite hauling it around quite a bit). I tried a few other Micro atx cases prior to this one, but none of them had the right combination of airflow and component support. This is a performance micro atx case. Hats off to Apevia - this case works and it works well, and I intend on keeping this case until the next generation of qpacks comes out.... Whenever that is.

Let the buyer beware

Rosewill Green Series RG530-S12 530W Continuous @40°C, 80 PLUS Bronze Certified, Single 12V Rail, SLI & Crossfire Ready, Active PFC "Compatible with AMD APU & Intel Core i7,i5,i3" Power Supply
Rosewill Green Series RG530-S12 530W Continuous @40°C, 80 PLUS Bronze Certified, Single 12V Rail, SLI & Crossfire Ready, Active PFC "Compatible with AMD APU & Intel Core i7,i5,i3" Power Supply

Pros: * It was cool and silent for the very very short time it worked * No annoying light * Single 12v rail * At least it didn't take my motherboard with it when it died...

Cons: * It died in one hour - just one hour. So much for reliability.

Overall Review: I installed the power supply (I've been building systems for over a decade - this is not rocket science). I turned on the computer - everything worked fine. One hour later. *POP* And it was completely dead. I was just happy that it didn't take my quad core system with it.

Plantronics is still the best

PLANTRONICS BLACKWIRE C220-M USB Connector Noise Canceling Headset
PLANTRONICS BLACKWIRE C220-M USB Connector Noise Canceling Headset

Pros: * Good solid construction * It really does cancel noise * Relatively comfortable

Cons: * It doesn't make any waffles

Overall Review: I needed a headset for a work at home job. My experiences with most "gaming" headsets was that they were a little inconsistent with the noise canceling aspect. This headset from Plantronics worked like a champ.

This Board is Awesome!!!

BIOSTAR TH55B HD LGA 1156 Intel H55 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
BIOSTAR TH55B HD LGA 1156 Intel H55 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: * Good selection of Overclock items * Extremely stable when overclocked * Cool features like reset and power on switches on the MB (useful for testing board outside of the case) * Lots of bios updates from Biostar (well supported)

Cons: * Only 4 USB ports on the back??? Really????? In this day and age?!?!?!

Overall Review: This is my first time purchasing a Biostar board. I had problems with almost all of the other H55 boards before I tried this one. OF all of the H55 motherboards out there, I believe that this is the one with the most mature bios. Hopefully the others will catchup in time.

This is A Good Buy

Intel Core i5-650 - Core i5 Clarkdale Dual-Core 3.2 GHz LGA 1156 73W Intel HD Graphics Desktop Processor - BX80616I5650
Intel Core i5-650 - Core i5 Clarkdale Dual-Core 3.2 GHz LGA 1156 73W Intel HD Graphics Desktop Processor - BX80616I5650

Pros: * One of the best dual core you can get right now for Overclocking * Lower heat output vs a comparably clocked quad core * Easily breaks 4ghz overclocks on air cooling

Cons: * High price for a dual core

Overall Review: Let's be real here, most applications are still not quad core optimized. Even the games that are so-called "quad-core" ready still only use about 33% of a quad core cpu's power. If you convert videos or crunch numbers for a living then a quad core cpu is definitely worth it, but everyone else will hardly notice a difference. This is where the i5-650 comes in. I am an overclocker, and I also tend to stick with smaller cases. The heat output from a typical quad core system when overclocked is completely insane, and it will quickly saturate all but the most extreme air cooling kits. The i5-650 gives you the ability to overclock like nuts and not have to worry about heat killing your cpu.
