This review is from: Targus Black 17" XL Notebook Backpack Model TXL617
Pros: It can carry my textbooks a few journals etc... It can also fit my Asus G73- barely, but it is still an accomplishment considering its a 17.3in laptop with extended 2inch grill.
Cons: Zippers easily get stuck. It is designed to carry so much stuff, but if the weight correlates with that amount it will start to fall a part. It has been treated. No tossing etc. But the shoulder straps are tearing. The material that binds the zippers are also ripping. Such cheap build quality for a bag that costed 70USD.DISSAPOINTED.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Team 32GB microSDHC Flash Card Model TG032G0MC24A
Pros: At first glance, seems like a steal. 32 GB, and includes an SD mount. And isn't expensive when you consider what you are supposed to be getting.
Cons: Worked for a month, then died. Luckily no crucial files were stored on it. But the card itself is not working anymore, I'd suggest spending the extra 5 dollars to get a more reputable branded Micro-SD card.
Other Thoughts: I've had the same 2 GB Kingston card for years and I still use it as main sd card storage, phone capacity isn't bad. But the 32 GB would have been great for media storage, so I wouldn't have to constantly dump backups onto PC storage.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: SAMSUNG 840 Series 2.5" 250GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-7TD250BW
Pros: Used it to upgrade the 500GB 7,200rpm HDD in my Asus G73jh-RBBX05, although the motherboard in the laptop only supported SATA II, I still saw a VERY noticeable increase in performance over the Hard drive.
It is extremely light, and doesn't eat up a lot of power. My start up time is roughly 25 seconds, which is a great increase over the former 1:30 minute cold boot. And all software is working much faster too, Photoshop CS6 is up and ready in about 4 seconds, and it's a similar story for all my other software, there is a performance increase of about 60-70%, and that's on SATA II.
Cons: I was supposed to get a SATA to USB cable to migrate my HDD partition to the SSD, it did NOT come with one. Although I didn't need it anyways... Since I was going to go the tedious, but wise route of doing a fresh install. I would have still liked to have it around for my now useless HDD to use as a portable external.
Other Thoughts: - Had to wait nearly a week for it to arrive, but I can't complain. Free Shipping!
-Also received the free Far Cry 3 game, I will not play it. But I thought it was nice for Samsung to include a $50 game that wasn't even released when I bought it in November.
- This is an upgrade to an already 2 year old laptop, so the longevity of the drive isn't as important to me as it would be for someone putting parts together for a new build. I know it concerns a lot of folks that it's using the new TLC memory, which isn't as fast as the alternatives, and doesn't last as long (benefit as drop in price for both manufacturer and consumer). But the 5 year warranty puts me at ease.
