This review is from: ASUS RT-AC68W Dual-Band Wireless-AC1900 Gigabit Router
Pros: Was able to handle streaming and multiple devices with almost zero lag
Cons: Burnt out after 3 months; purchased in January and now I have to go through ASUS to try to figure out why it no longer powers up.
Other Thoughts: Tried to do a reset do to a serious amount of lag one day; after I powered it down, it would no longer turn back on. I've tried EVERYTHING. This is way too expensive to only have lasted 3 months. Very disappointed. ASUS has been my go-to company for many years now. Seems like their QA is starting to slip.READ FULL REVIEW
Other Thoughts: I bought this because I really wanted to upgrade to a SSD; needless to say I was going crazy trying to get this to work properly. Then I decided to read the other recent reviews and realized it was time to tell Newegg to send me a new one. S.M.A.R.T. failure right off the bat, and nothing but issues trying to get BIOS to recognize the drive. Unlike a regular HDD that will give you a good 'ol click if it's bad, this is very difficult to tell. Especially when you buy it "brand new" you expect it to just work. Although I dislike Newegg for doing these "bad batch releases", I still won't go anywhere else because they resolve any problems so well. Will review the replacement drive, and hopefully this one works without issue!READ FULL REVIEW
Cons: Potential for a DOA
Other Thoughts: This is the 2nd drive after I returned the first to Newegg; I'm thankful that their customer service is the best (one of the main reasons I buy ALL my computer hardware from them). So far, no problems, and I'm fairly impressed with the new 7200rpm drives. I have an old 10,000 rpm that's not as fast as this drive, but it is REALLY old. I like Seagate, even though it is hit or miss if you get a working drive.READ FULL REVIEW
