not really a con but it is very bright, i usually have the brightness around 18-20% and its still too bright for total dark viewing
Other Thoughts: i purchased this monitor late 2008 right after release and it ran solid for a good 18 months mainly being used for video and photo editing. one day i was editing went to make food during a render and came back to the monitor just off and unresponsive. called up HP and had a replacement delivered by hand four days (there was a weekend in there) later. the replacement which was brand new and removed from box in front of me has now been running for over a year. i honestly could not be happier with the product or the customer service. and again as a videographer and photo enthusiast the broader color gamut is a godsend.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Hercules Dualpix USB 2.0 HD720p WebCam for Notebooks
Pros: high enough resolution
great mounting options
Other Thoughts: i bought this as a gift for my father about a year ago. he is a way on business a lot and just to talk to the family we are dealing with four different time zones; so voip services are easiest for us to keep in touch.
since he uses an HP tablet (a real one with handwriting recognition not some slate sub machine) the screen bezel is very thin and annoying to work with. this webcam by far had the best and most versatile mounting system i could find.
since the webcam is motorized its real easy to make adjustments but the functionality isn't really usable past that. like any webcam there is a bunch of bloatware that comes with it but its no worse then any of the other webcams i have used in the past. the picture quality is great for its size just don't ever plan to shooting anything meaningful with it.
the reason i wrote this is because i got to mess around with it again, and even after a year of use its still in great condition
