CORSAIR RM Series RM650 650W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: -Fully Modular and all black cabling.
-Fanless operation for most scenarios means I can leave it facing up and not worry too much about it still fresh air from my GPU. My PC is on carpet so flipping the unit to draw air from underneath my case isn't an option.
-Nice packaging and the unit looks really good IMO

Cons: -LOUD. Even without the fan running 75% of the time or more, this thing is loud. I have 5 Rosewill Hyperborea fans (2x120 on cpu cooler, 2x140 front intake, and 1x120 rear exhaust) and even at 100% fan speed, I can still hear this PSU.

I'm not sure if this is a faulty unit or not, but it's quite annoying. The noise seems to be a little bit lower in frequency than some of the other coil whine videos I've seen posted about this unit as well, but it's still really loud.

-Flat/Ribbon cabling. Some people may like this but it can make cable management behind the motherboard a real pain. These cables are fairly stiff too so getting them to lay flat enough for the side panel to squeeze on was quite a chore.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to go inside my Corsair 330r for a fairly silent PC build. I wasn't looking for dead silence but I definitely wasn't expecting the PSU to be so audible. It's the first thing I hear when I walk in my room and unless I'm gaming with headphones on, it's the only thing I hear.

It sucks having to RMA something and pay a restocking fee with the risk of the replacement having the same issue too. I took a video of the noise issue and will post it if need be.

Thermaltake Urban 21 Black SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

5 out of 5 eggs Wrong product in the photos 01/21/2014

This review is from: Thermaltake Urban 21 Black SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Thermaltake's new lineup is pretty clean looking and fairly priced.

Cons: The pictures on this item page are for the S31 instead of the correctly listed (and mostly likely priced) S21. I'm sure the S31 is more expensive based on it's better feature set and bigger window. Here is the S21 for anyone interested still due to the price: https://www.thermaltakeusa.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00001978

Here is Newegg's correct listing for the S31 (what's currently pictured on this page 01/21/14): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133225

Other Thoughts: Just leaving this review for now until Newegg fixes the pictures. Would hate to have someone blindly order and be surprised to receive a different case.
