D-Link DWA-552 Xtreme Desktop Adapter IEEE 802.11g, IEEE802.11n Draft 2.0 32-bit PCI Up to 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates WPA2
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: It installs easy as long as you manually install the divers

Cons: This card will NOT connect to the DIR-655 router at 300mbps as claimed. The max is 130. Even when you set the channel width to 20/40 mhz, this card will only connect at 130.

Other Thoughts: I am extremely disappointed. This is the card the dlink recommends to go with their DIR-655 router to achieve 300mbps, but it is a complete lie. Now I am stuck with these devices I don't want because d-link are liars. I will never buy a single thing from dlink ever again.

D-Link Xtreme Gigabit Router (DIR-655) Wireless N300, USB SharePort, Gigabit
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: it routes

Cons: I used this with the DWA-552. This is the card it reccomends to use with this router. Max speed is 130mbps. 300 is an absolute lie.

Rosewill RCX-Z100 One ball bearing for over 45000/hrs life CPU Cooler
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: It's big and quiet and keeps even Bartons cool. My 2800+ socket A Barton ran at 50 idle with the stock cooler and this makes it run around 39 idle (also using ArcticSilver5).

Cons: You really need to remove the fan to get it on.

Other Thoughts: if you are careful, removing the fan shouldn't be a problem. The people that are complaining must have not have worked on to many socket a systems. All socket a fans are a pain to get on. All socket a fans that attach to the heatsink do it in this manner. This is nothing new. Be careful and you will be fine. Unless your screws are stripped out from the factory, in which case, yeah, RMA it.
