4 out of 5 eggs See my review of Apex Raw refurb 02/19/2014

This review is from: SteelSeries Sensei 62150 Grey 8 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Laser 11400 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: Thing of beauty

Cons: see my review of the Apex Raw keyboard but to sum it up don't combine Steel engine rev 2.1 with windows 8.1. Go with the windows drivers until Steel engine 3 comes to all product lines

4 out of 5 eggs windows 8.1 Beware 02/19/2014

This review is from: SteelSeries 64121 Apex [RAW] Keyboard

Pros: Excellent keyboard other than the software

Cons: Lets just say that the steelseries engine 2 has a lot of problems playing nice with windows 8.1. It was published that when 8.1 came out in Oct due to a change in code on microsofts part the steelseries device drivers would cause a system crash that required a C prompt work around. Steel engine rev 2.1 fixed that issue but it still causes a lot of CTD's and generally wonky behavior in certain games. My advice go with windows drivers until steel engine 3 comes out for all of there products because as of right now it is limited to 4 of there prod line.

Thermaltake SMART Series SP-650PCBUS 650W ATX 12V 2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Chugging along with no problem

Cons: CPU power connector was a mother to get to reach in a mid tower

Other Thoughts: Gotta say so far so good. I just put the 650W variant in a new build and it is holding up well. Have always used thermaltake PSU's and have yet to have one dissapoint.
